The 12 or so steps...to a Successful Marketer!

1.) Goals--you need them, gotta have them. If you don't write down your goals, its about 10 times more likely you won't accomplish them, writing things down helps us focus, it imprints it into our minds, and it gives us something to look at when we do get lost and discouraged...

set yearly goals--ie where do you want to be in a year from now?

set monthly and weekly goals--where do you want to be in a month or week? or what are you going to do each week to reach your big goals.

set daily goals, these should be more detailed--stating how you are going to reach your monthly, and yearly goals--for instance they might be submitting 10 FREE Classified ads a day, and sending so much email a day--etc....


2.) Learn from others and duplicate what they are doing.

One habit many marketers fall into is thinking: "I can find my own path, I don't need anyone's help" I agree its good to try a few things, maybe to spice up the system, but before you join any group you should make sure it has a turn-key system, ie a system that you can be put into and begin earning commissions fast.


3.) Budget your time & Keep Away From Distractions.

This is a hard one, everytime I get online, there is so much to do, sometimes I'd rather surf than promote, I like trying to find ways to spice up my site, and I end up spending hours that could have been better spent submitting my site to search engines, FFA Links pages, etc...but to succeed you need to focus everything into your business.


4.) Paid Advertising, Makes Everything a whole lot easier!

Kinda self explanatory, by buying advertising, you don't need to work as hard in promoting your site, all the hard work is done, I recommend starting out small testing a few venues, and see which ones fan out the best for your product or service.. one site I recommend is Click-thru.net you can buy click-thrus (ie visitors to your site)for $.10 each, and if you are a double click-thru member you get twice the hits. I would also advise checking into some ezine advertising.


5.) Start an ezine, This is very helpful you should generally have a few newsletters for the following reasons:

  • A. To communicate to your downline
  • B. To Communicate to your prospects/website visitors
  • C. To supply information people need or want, thus attracting
  • many subscribers and gaining credibility for your business,
  • this also acts as a good prospecting tool--in your ezines you
  • can put your own classifieds, or charge others to put
  • advertising in for you.

6.) A tip for Low Cost Offline Marketing!

Become a Post-it Note Warrior! Here is what you do, grab a few packs of post-it notes, on each one write a little message-this could be as complex as a small classified ad, or it could simply say as little as "Sorry I Missed you Please Call: your phone... now leave a message on your answering machine,or better yet get a voice mail box and insert an overview of your company, and let each individual leave you a message.


7.) Keep At It--And STAY WITH ONE COMPANY! Through the hustle and bustle of online advertising we usually end up receiving tons of emails in our inbox, all of these have different offers, if you wanna succeed Do Not Switch Companies Every Month! Its okay to try some of these programs, I have tried many, and haven't succeeded in anything other than my core program, so I pretty much stay away from other people's opps, sometimes I do give into curiosity, and might check it out.

The main point here is FOCUS on ONE MAIN PROGRAM! Keep this program in the forefront of everything else, and stay with it for at LEAST ONE YEAR, the majority of people who fail in Network Marketing are those who said I'll stick with it for 6 months, and if it doesn't work, I'll try something else, the majority of people who succeed are the ones who said "I Think I'll stick it out for at least a year"

--It takes time many businesses require thousands start-up and much more in time, and training.

You Tell me who will be more successful: The Guy who treats his business as a $500,000 business, or the man who acts like his business is just his hobby--I opt for contestant #1.

--And That's All I gotta say about that!


8.) Read, Delve, Become an MLM Genius.

Read ye from the best books, words of wisdom.

Just keep learning, soak up everything you can possibly find on network marketing, books, magazines, seminars, conventions, tapes, videos, college courses, online resources--everything--learn as much as you can, and you will learn to love the industry, and you will be successful! Always Be a Student of MLM Gurus!


9. )Improve Thyself! Buy those self help tapes, get the Tony Robbins videos, when you believe you can be successful, then, and only then are you on the right path --Have confidence in yourself good things will come of your hard work--Dress Right, and Look Professional, Look Professional, and you'll feel professional, feel professional and you'll Become professional!


10.) Read the following books: Richest man in Babylon, The Seven Habits of Highly Successful People, How to win Friends, and Influence People, just to name a few.


11.) Speak up!

Talk, spread the word--do not feel bad about talking to family and Friends--just share the dream, not to put you on the spot, but by not telling them, they could be missing out on their chance to fulfill all of their dreams.

Also Speak to everyone that comes with-in arms reach, I try and speak to at least 25 new people a day.


12.) Overcome Telephone Fear-- The People in my company who have picked up the phone to call their prospects, have received 25% more sign-ups than those who don't.

The telephone was my BIGGEST Mistake, I always thought I could market without the use of the telephone, it scared me to pick up the phone, then I joined Life Force--my MLM company, for the first 6 months or so I stuck to online advertising, but as my group grew, and I grew, and my business grew, and my income grew I began to feel more and more like a leader, and felt more and more like I needed to overcome all of my fears, and be an example to my downline.

Now I use the telephone as much as any other medium, and I am doing GREEEATT!

Well in closing: these are just a few tips I have picked up along the way, they are subject to your own translations, and can be used anyway you see fit, you could print them out and burn the paper for warmth, if you do disregard this information, that is probably what you'll need to do most-since you probably won't be able to afford most other luxuries. But I sincerely hope that we can meet together someday on a Carribean island with no cares or worries, and just chat about our success--Oh there I go again-I'm getting a little teary eyed..
