What Every Online Marketer Needs To Know About Selling What People Want

As you know, every business online faces many obstacles in order to profit cost effectively. Most businesses focus on ranking #1 on search engines, having 10,000 hits per month and having a web page that pulls in orders minute by minute.

Well, it all sounds good, and looks good on paper. But let me ask you a question. What is the most important element in a successful internet marketing campaign?

Well, if it is higher ranking in search engines, then all of those companies are THE most profitable companies on the internet, right?

What about advertising in ezines? I bet they are the guaranteed solution to a profitable business, aren't they?

And don't forget those all important free classified ads. They are THE most proven way to generate orders on a daily basis, am I right? ...No, I am not.

Isn't it interesting that we receive Unsolicited Email (UCE) every day with companies promising internet riches, search engine placement, fast bulk servers, etc, yet they probably are not considered successful internet marketers. Well, why do you think that is?

Simple, they do not know how to sell what people want! Yes, they all will tell you the power and POTENTIAL of the internet, but not how to market intelligently.

Just like in direct marketing, for instance, you have to provide the customer with what they want, at a competitive price, with a solid guarantee, and a valuable bonus...at least!

So, how can one incorporate both the marketing and the internet tools to develop the leads? Simple. Take the editor of this newsletter you subscribe to, for example. Ask them how they gained subscribers, and how to create a newsletter, for instance.

Newsletters are one valuable means of giving customers value at no risk, developing relationships, building strong and targeted leads, and helping people keep track of what works in a specific field of interest.

Also, Opt-In marketing is vital. Would you receive a higher response if you spam to 100,000 uninterested people, or 2,000 people who have requested information from you before?

After you place your reciprocal links, use free publicity, place your ads, advertise in ezines, rank in search engines, create a newsletter, use opt-in mailing lists, it will be USELESS if you market poorly.

That is the most valuable lesson. Seriously, do you buy what you want or what you are told is wonderful?

Answer these questions for a moment.

  • Do you like benefits?
  • Would you like to see value in a product?
  • Do you ever pay attention to powerful headlines or poor headlines?
  • Do you like generalizations or fact?
  • Do you want a guarantee that offers no risk to you?

After answering these questions, remember, you are no different than your potential customers. That's right, you are no different than your potential customers. Give them what they want. To do this, regardless of your business, you must learn how to market correctly.

Please take the time to learn the proven marketing techniques used for over 50 years in Direct Marketing and learn from the trial and error of some of the most innovative marketers in the world. Focus your attention on how to do the following:

  • Test headlines, price, and guarantee
  • Use perceived value to increase profits and customer
  • satisfaction
  • Discover your Unique Selling Proposition (USP)
  • Sell What People Want...People Want Benefits, Benefits,
  • Benefits!
  • Learn how to upsell with your product or service
  • Understand Joint Ventures and use your competition to your
  • advantage.
  • Learn How To Make Your Offer Irresistible

It is very simple to do this. Remember, your internet marketing campaign is a part of your success. But notice you are still marketing.

Remember, take your business seriously and it will take you seriously. Your results will be directly related to your effort. But you must put the effort in the marketing as well. That is, if you wish to run a profitable business. Do you?
